Global demand for (structured) medicinal product data is increasing, because of requirements and regulations such as ISO IDMP, CTR, and MDR. Furthermore, the industry recognizes the value that structured data can bring to an organization. Adding datasets or implementing systems without quality data and/or effective data governance, on the other hand, will not provide the anticipated benefits. 

Effective Data Governance will help organizations in establishing a governance organization, data ownership, roles and responsibilities, strategy, vision, and Data Governance Operations. While many organizations are familiar with the theory of data governance, putting the theory into practice remains a challenge for many. This is not surprising given that data governance is one of the most difficult topics to address effectively. 

During this webinar we presented our experience on Data Governance, and we shared the challenges we have seen in various companies. 

Following up on our previous webinar on Data Governance, we presented: 

• practical examples of Data Governance implementations at Life Science Organizations  
• several real-world industry examples and  
• how to establish a Data Governance Organization & Operations, as well as the necessary cross-functional collaboration for Data Governance. 

This webinar was hosted by our experts Patrick Middag and Dennie van de Voort. 

Patrick Middag is a Director at Deloitte, with a focus on Regulatory Information Management and IDMP. He joined Deloitte after a career of more than 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, including 14 years at Bristol Myers Squibb, where he was an Associate Director in IT for Global Regulatory Sciences. 

Dennie van de Voort is a Junior Manager at Iperion  – a Deloitte business, specializing in IDMP/structured data best practice, Data Governance and advanced use cases for the last five years.
