Join us for the first Deloitte Learning on the Go of 2023 – Challenges facing the insurer of today!

We are very excited to announce that we are relaunching the Deloitte Learning on the Go sessions, and we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the first session 2023. The Learning on the Go sessions aim to create a space where we can share ideas, discuss important topics facing our industry, and strengthen our professional networks.

We will kick off our first session with a focus on tackling the challenges facing the insurer of today. The key themes for this session include the disruptive changes the insurance industry, as well as net-zero underwriting and the transition to a sustainable insurance sector.

The session will include two presentations (description of the topics can be seen below) and we will close with some drinks and snacks afterwards.

Disruptive Changes – Bastiaan Walenkamp:

Climate change, exponential technologies, polarization of society; these are just a few of the disruptive changes that mark our time. Man has not faced such a great change before. During this session Bastiaan  will discuss the nature and impact of disruptive changes in our society and what impact this has on companies. In short: what does this mean for insurers and the future of insurance?

Net-zero underwriting: Transitioning into a completely sustainable insurer – Jurjen Boog & Pieter van Dusseldorp:

Insurers have a central role in the transition to a sustainable economy. Besides their roles as risk managers and investors, they enable emissions through the activities they insure. During this Learning on the Go, we will discuss questions such as: Why should insurers transition to net-zero underwriting? How can insurers measure and disclose insured emissions? What are effective methods to achieve net-zero emissions? What risks and opportunities exist in the transition to net-zero underwriting?

Note that during 2023 & 2024 it is mandatory for professionals registered with the AG (Koninklijk Actuarieel Genootschap) to obtain PE Points focused on the theme of "Sustainability". Therefore, by attending this event, you are eligible to obtain 2 PE points from the AG in this regard.
